American Shared Hospital Services provides Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery equipment and radiation therapy and related equipment. The company through its majority-owned subsidiary, GKF, provides Gamma Knife units to medical centers in the states of Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin and in Turkey. The company also provides radiation therapy and related equipment, including intensity modulated radiation therapy, image guided radiation therapy and a CT simulator to the radiation therapy department at an existing Gamma Knife site in the U.S. American Shared Hospital Services was founded by Ernest A. Bates in June 1980 and is headquartered in San Francisco, CA.
