The AMSC Superconductors business segment focuses on manufacturing HTS wire and coils; designs and develops superconductor products, such as power cables, fault current limiters and motors; and manages large-scale superconductor projects. It has operations in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. American Superconductor was founded by Yet-Ming Chiang, David A. Rudman, John B. Vander Sande and Gregory J. Yurek on April 9, 1987 and is headquartered in Devens, MA.
