It designs and manufactures space hardware, and commercializes space technologies for use on earth. The company operates through two business segments: Astrotech Space Operations and Spacetech. The Astrotech Space Operations segment provides support for the U. S. government and commercial customers to successfully process complex communication, earth observation and deep space satellites in preparation for their launch on a variety of launch vehicles. The Spacetech segment is an incubator intended to develop space-industry technologies into commercial applications to be sold to consumers and industry. Astrotech was founded in1984 and is headquartered in Austin, TX.
