CompuCredit Holdings Corp. provides credit card issuing and consumer lending holding services. It provides various credit and related finance services and products to financially and consumer credit markets. CompuCredit Holdings operates in four business segments: Credit Cards, Investments in Previously Charged-Off Receivables, Auto Finance and Internet Micro-Loans. The Credit Cards segment consists of its credit card investment and servicing activities. This segment includes the activities associated with substantially all of its credit card products. It also includes ancillary investment activities that are being undertaken by the management of its Credit Cards segment as it seeks to leverage its infrastructure into other credit products with similar characteristics to credit card lending and seeks to deploy underutilized management and other resources into other types of investments; these investments and activities currently are not material in nature or significance. The Investments in Previously Charged-Off Receivables segment consists of the operations of its debt collection subsidiary. The Auto Lending segment is comprised of a nationwide network of auto dealers in the used car business from which auto loans are purchased or serviced on behalf of dealers. Through its CAR Financial subsidiary, CompuCredit Holdings provides financial services for automotive dealers and automotive finance companies, particularly for the underserved consumer. The Internet Micro-Loans segment currently is comprised of its US-based Internet, micro-loan operations. The company was founded by David G. Hanna and Richard W. Gilbert in August 1996 and is headquartered in Atlanta, GA.
