AU Optronics Corp. engages in the research, development, production and sale of thin film transistor liquid crystal displays (TFT-LCDs) and other flat panel displays. The Solar Business segmenthandles the manufacturing of polysilicon and solar wafer. The company was founded on August 12, 1996 and is headquartered in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
