Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais SA generates and distributes electricity. It operates through the following segments: Generation, Transmission, and Distribution. The Generation segment includes the generation of electricity. The Transmission segment involves the transportation of electric power from the facilities it is generated at, to the distribution networks for the final delivery to end users. The Distribution segment consists of supplying electric energy to consumers within the concession area. The company was founded by Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira on May 22, 1952 and is headquartered in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
