It builds and operates next generation mobile broadband networks that provide mobile internet and residential Internet access services. It also provides telephony services through fixed voice over internet protocol. The company serves retail customers through its own CLEAR brand as well as through wholesale relationships with some of the leading companies in the retail, technology and telecommunications industries. It is constructing a next-generation 4G LTE Advanced-ready network to address the capacity needs of the market, and is also working closely with the Global TDD-LTE Initiative and China Mobile to further the TDD-LTE ecosystem. Clearwire was founded by Craig O. McCaw in October 2003 and is headquartered in Bellevue, WA.
