Compuware Corp. is a technology performance company, which develops software products. It also offers professional technical services, including mobile application development, performance engineering and legacy system modernization. The company operates its business through six segments: Application Performance Management, Mainframe, Changepoint, Uniface, Professional Services and Covisint Application Services. The Application Performance Management segment optimizes performance of web, non-web, mobile, streaming and cloud applications while managing modern applications, including mobile, cloud, big data and service-oriented architecture. The Mainframe segment focuses on developing, marketing and supporting software products to enable IT organizations to rationalize, modernize and extend legacy application portfolios. This segment's software products improve the productivity of development, maintenance and support teams in application analysis, testing, defect detection and remediation, fault management, file and data management, data compliance and application performance management. Its products include File-AID, Abend-AID, Xpediter and Hiperstation. The Changepoint segment combines professional services automation with project portfolio management to give complete visibility into projects, investments and resources for informed business planning and financial control. The Uniface segment operates as a rapid application development environment for building, renewing and integrating most complex enterprise applications. It also offers technology independency over an operating systems, databases and third-party technologies. The Professional Services segment delivers technology solutions. The Covisint Application Services segment provides cloud engagement platform for creating and enabling new mission-critical external business processes. Its solutions enable organizations to connect, engage and collaborate with critical external audiences, including customers, business partners, and suppliers. This segment serves the automotive, healthcare and energy industries. The company was founded by Peter Karmanos, Jr., Thomas Thewes and Allen B. Cutting in April 1973 and is headquartered in Detroit, MI.
