Delta Natural Gas Co., Inc. engages in the distribution and transportation of natural gas in Central and Southeastern Kentucky. The company also owns and operates underground storage field in Southeastern Kentucky. It conducts business activities through three operating subsidiaries: Delta Resources, Inc., Delgasco, Inc. and Enpro, Inc. The Delta Resources buys natural gas and resells it to industrial or other large use customers on its system. The Delgasco buys natural gas and resells it to Delta Resources and to customers not on its system. The Enpro owns and operates production properties and undeveloped acreage. It also sells liquids extracted from natural gas in its system. The company operates through two business segments: Regulated and Non-Regulated. The Regulated segment distributes natural gas to retail customers in 23 predominantly rural counties. In addition, it transports natural gas to industrial customers on its system who purchase their natural gas in the open market. The segment also transports natural gas on behalf of local producers and other customers not on its distribution system. The Non-Regulated segment participates in related ventures, consisting of natural gas marketing and production. Delta Natural Gas was founded on October 7, 1949 and is headquartered in Winchester, KY.
