The Retail division is involved in the marketing of retail clothing, jewellery, accessories, cosmetics, sporting and outdoor apparel and equipment and homeware to the broad, middle-income group throughout southern Africa, mainly as a credit retailer. It operates through the following divisions: Foschini, Markham, Exact!, Sports, TFG Apparel Supply company, Sports, Jeweler, @home and @homelivingspace. The Financial Services division manages the company's in-store card programmer as well as handling the company's financial service products such as club and associated magazines and insurance products. RCS group is an operationally independent consumer finance business that provides financial services under its own brand in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. It is structured into two operating business units being: Transactional Finance, comprising RCS cards and RCS private label cards and Fixed Term Finance, comprising RCS personal loans and insurance products. The retail trading divisions are supported by a number of centralized service functions. The company was founded by George Rosenthal in 1924 and is headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa.
