Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc. is a holding company. It is a fabricator of offshore drilling and production platforms, and other specialized structures. The company through its subsidiaries is engaged in the fabrication of offshore drilling and production platforms, including jackets and deck sections of fixed production platforms, hull, tendon, and/or deck sections of floating production platforms, piles, wellhead protectors and subsea templates and various production, compressor and utility modules. It also manufactures and repairs pressure vessels used in the oil and gas industry; refurbishes existing platforms; fabricates various other types of steel structures, and living quarters for installation on such platforms. Gulf Island provides onshore and offshore scaffolding and piping insulation services; and performs heavy lifts, such as ship integration and TLP module integration; loading and offloading jack-up drilling rigs, semi-submersible drilling rigs or other similar cargo. The company also fabricates multiple processing modules installed in petro-chemical plants and towboats, barges, lift boats, offshore support vessels and mid-body sections for offshore supply vessels. Gulf Island Fabrication was founded by Alden J. Laborde in 1985 and is headquartered in Houma, LA.
