The company organized into business units based on their products and has two reportable segments: Steelworks and Vanadium. The Steelworks major products are magnetite iron ore, structural steel, plate and oil. The Vanadium products include vanadium slag and ferrovanadium. Vanadium slag is a waste product from the steelmaking process, and this slag is transferred from the steelworks to the vanadium plant, which then forms the input into the business of the vanadium business. The company mines titaniferous magnetite ore at its Mapochs mine operations at Roossenekal in the Limpopo province and produces iron and steel products and vanadium-bearing slag at its steelworks at eMalahleni in the Mpumalanga province. The company was founded in 1957 and is headquartered in Witbank, South Africa.
