Company Description

HealthSouth Corp. provides inpatient rehabilitative healthcare services. The company serves patients through its network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, long term acute care hospitals, outpatient rehabilitation satellite clinics and home health agencies. The company provides rehabilitative care to patients who are recovering from conditions, such as stroke and other neurological disorders, orthopedic, cardiac and pulmonary conditions, brain and spinal cord injury, and amputations. Its LTCHs provide medical treatment to patients with chronic diseases and complex medical conditions. HealthSouth was founded by Richard M. Scrushy on February 22, 1984 and is headquartered in Birmingham, AL.
