It also offers global telecommunications carriers with Wi-Fi enablement services that allow Wi-Fi providers to monetize their Wi-Fi network with 'visiting' subscribers, provide their subscribers with global Wi-Fi connectivity, and enable data offload solutions for Wi-Fi transactions and settlements exchange among global telecommunication providers. The company operates its business through two segments: Enterprise Mobility Services and Managed Network Services segment. The Enterprise Mobility Services segment consists of open mobile services, legacy mobile office offering, and network services. The open mobile services are based on open mobile platform, which is a cloud-based services delivery system that gives the enterprise insight and control over definition and management of their mobility services. Its mobile office product provides unified global connectivity, connectivity management and device management. This segment also includes the iPass Mobile Network, which consists of global venues, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Inflight Wi-Fi hotspots, broadband connection technologies, such as 3G, as well as narrowband access technologies, such as modem dialup. The Managed Network Services segment involves enterprise remote and branch office connectivity. This segment offers services to enterprise customers through its iPass Branch Office and iPass Retail Office services that combine service functions that include end-to-end managed IP VPN, Visa-accredited PCI security solutions for retail, and home gateway management for telecommunication workers. The company was founded in July 1996 and is headquartered in Redwood Shores, CA.
