Jarden Corp. is a consumer products company. It operates through four business segments: Outdoor Solutions, Consumer Solutions, Branded Consumables and Process Solutions. The Outdoor Solutions segment manufactures, markets and distributes global consumer lifestyle products for outdoor and outdoor-related activities. This segment's product portfolio includes baseball and softball gloves and bats, lanterns, outdoor and leisure apparel, sleeping bags, skis, snowboards, stoves and tents. The Consumer Solutions segment manufactures, markets and distributes household products, including kitchen appliances and home environment products. Its product portfolio includes coffeemakers, bedding, home vacuum packaging machines, heating pads, slow cookers, air cleaning products, fans and personal and animal grooming products. The Branded Consumables segment manufactures or sources, markets and distributes a broad line of branded consumer products, which are fundamental household staples. This segment's product portfolio includes arts and crafts, safety items, plastic cutlery, matches and lighters, all natural fresh preserving, playing cards, poker sets and chips as well as a portfolio of fire starting and fire log products. The Process Solutions segment manufactures, markets and distributes a wide variety of plastic products including closures, contact lens packaging, medical disposables, plastic cutlery and rigid packaging. This segment also produces niche products fabricated from solid zinc strip and are a primary source supplier of copper-plated zinc penny blanks. Jarden was founded by Martin E. Franklin and Ian G. H. Ashken in April 1993 and is headquartered in Rye, NY.
