Its operations are carried out through the following business segments: Iron and Steel, Welding, Aluminum and Copper, Machinery, Natural Resources and Engineering, Kobelco Eco-Solutions, Kobelco Construction Machinery, Kobelco Cranes, and Other Businesses. The Iron and Steel Business segment provides steel wire rods and bars, steel sheets, steel billets, steel castings and forgings, titanium and titanium alloys, foundry pig iron, slag products, stainless steel tube, construction materials, and other specialty steel products. The Welding Business segment provides welding consumables, welding robots, welding power sources, welding robot systems, welding-related testing, analysis and consulting. The Aluminum and Copper Business segment provides aluminum rolled products, copper rolled products, aluminum alloy and magnesium alloy castings and forgings, and aluminum fabricated products. The Machinery Business segment provides energy and chemical equipment, nuclear power equipment, tire and rubber machinery, plastics processing machinery, ultra high-pressure equipment, vacuum deposition systems, metalworking machinery, compressors, refrigeration compressors, heat pumps, ferrous and nonferrous rolling mills. The Natural Resources and Engineering Business segment provides ironmaking plants, nuclear power-related plant, sabo and disaster prevention products, civil engineering, and advanced urban transit systems. The Kobelco Eco Solutions Business segment provides water treatment plants, solid waste treatment plants, and process equipment. The Kobelco Construction Machinery Business segment provides hydraulic excavators, mini excavators, and wheel loaders. The Kobelco Cranes Business segment provides crawler cranes, rough terrain cranes, and work vessels. The Other Businesses segment provides real estate development, construction, sales, brokering and remodeling, specialty alloys and other materials, material analysis, high pressure gas vessels, superconducting materials, life care facilities for the elderly, and trading company. The company was founded on September 1, 1905 and is headquartered in Kobe, Japan.
