Leidos Holdings, Inc. is a holding company, which provides scientific, engineering, systems integration and technical services and solutions in the areas of defense, health, energy, infrastructure, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and cybersecurity to agencies of the U.S. Department of Defense, the intelligence community, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other U.S. Government civil agencies, state and local government agencies, foreign governments and customers in select commercial markets. The company operates its business through three segments: Health and Engineering, National Security Solutions and Corporate and Other. The Health and Engineering segment provides services and solutions to commercial hospitals and the Department of Defense as well as conducting research and development for U.S. Government and Commercial enterprises in the life sciences field. The National Security Solutions segment provides solutions and systems for air, land, sea, space and cyberspace for the U.S. intelligence community, the DoD, the military services, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and government agencies of U.S. allies abroad. The Corporate and Other business segment includes the operations of various corporate activities, certain expense items that are not reimbursed by its U.S. Government customers. Leidos Holdings was founded by John Robert Beyster on February 3, 1969 and is headquartered in McLean, VA.
