It consists of five generating power plants and 2 pumping stations and it also composed of hydraulic structures, such as reservoirs, dams, canals, dike, spillway, tunnels, forced ducts and water intakes. The Distribution segment distributes electric power. The Commercialization segment commercializes electric energy. The company was founded on July 17, 1899 and is headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
