Luby's, Inc. operates restaurants under the brands Luby's, Fuddruckers and Koo Koo Roo. It operates through three segments: Company-owned restaurants, Franchise Operations and Culinary Contract Services. The Company-owned restaurants segment consists of several brands which are aggregated into one reportable segment because the nature of the products and services, the production processes, the customers, the methods used to distribute the products and services, the nature of the regulatory environment are alike, and store level profit margin is similar. The Franchise operations segment offer franchises for only the Fuddruckers brand. Franchises are sold in markets where expansion is deemed advantageous to the development of the Fuddruckers concept and system of restaurants. The Culinary Contract Services segment consists of a business line servicing healthcare, higher education and corporate dining clients. Luby's was founded in 1947 and is headquartered in Houston, TX.
