The Company's fleet of 17 vessels includes containerships, combination container and roll-on/roll-off ships and custom-designed barges. Matson operates through its wholly owned subsidiaries in two segments: Ocean transportation, Logistics. The Ocean transportation segment operates through Matson Navigation Co., Inc, is an asset-based business that generates revenue primarily through the carriage of containerized freight between various U.S. Pacific Coast, Hawaii, Guam, Micronesia, China and other Pacific Island ports. The Logistics segment operates through Matson Logistics, which provides domestic and international rail intermodal service, long-haul and regional highway brokerage, specialized hauling, flat-bed and project work, less-than-truckload services, expedited freight services and warehousing, packaging and distribution services. It has operations in Antigua, Barbuda, China, Cook Islands, Hawaii, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Oakland. The company was founded in 1882 and is headquartered in Honolulu, HI.
