The company operates through the following business units: Advanced Computing Solutions and Mercury Federal Systems. The Advanced Computing Solutions unit is focused on signal end-to-end processing solutions that encompass signal acquisition, including microwave front-end, digitalization, computing, storage and communications, targeted to key market segments, including defense, communications and other commercial applications. Its open system architecture solutions span the full range of embedded technologies from board level products to fully integrated sub-systems. This segment's products utilize processor technologies designed to address highly data-intensive applications that include signal, sensor and image processing within environmentally constrained military and commercial applications. It also has a portfolio of microwave sub-assemblies to address needs in electronic warfare, SIGINT, ELINT and high bandwidth communications subsystems. The Mercury Federal Systems business unit is focused on services and support work with the Department of Defense, and federal intelligence and homeland security agencies, including designing and engineering new intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, capabilities to address present and emerging threats to U.S. forces. It offers a wide range of engineering architecture and design services that enable clients to deploy computing capabilities for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems on an accelerated time cycle. This business unit enables it to combine classified intellectual property with the commercially-developed application-ready sub-systems being developed by Advanced Computing Solutions, providing customers with platform-ready, affordable intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance sub-systems. Mercury Computer Systems was founded in 1981 and is headquartered in Chelmsford, MA.
