The Social Infrastructure segment manufactures and sells systems for broadcasting and video distribution, control, transportation and public networks, fire and disaster prevention, aerospace, and defense. The Personal Solutions segment supplies mobile handsets, personal computers, internet services, and monitors; and creates new devices and services for cloud computing. The Other segment manufactures and sells lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, electronic components, liquid crystal display panels, and lighting equipment. The company was founded on July 17, 1899 by Kunihiko Iwadare and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan
