Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp. is an integrated producer of value-added primary aluminum and rolled aluminum coils. It operates through two businesses: Upstream and Downstream. The Upstream business consists of three reportable segments: Primary Aluminum, Alumina and Bauxite. The Primary Aluminum segment produces value-added aluminum products in several forms, including billet, rod, purity sow, commodity grade sow, and foundry. The Alumina segment consists of chemically refines and converts bauxite into alumina, which is the principal raw material used in the production of primary aluminum. The Bauxite segment engages in mines and produces the bauxite used for alumina production at its Gramercy refinery, and the remaining bauxite not taken by the refinery is sold to a third party. The Downstream business comprises of its Flat-Rolled Products segment. The Flat-Rolled Products segment has rolling mill facilities whose major foil products are Fin stock and container stock. The company was founded on March 27, 2007 and is headquartered in Franklin, TN.
