Company Description

Prudential Financial, Inc. provides financial products and services including life insurance, annuities, retirement-related services, mutual funds and investment management to individual and institutional customers through proprietary and third-party distribution networks. It operates through the five divisions: U.S. Individual solutions, U.S. Workplace Solutions, Investment Management, International Insurance and Closed Block; and Corporate and Other Operations. The U.S. Individual Solutions division consists of Individual Annuities and individual life segments. The individual life segment manufactures and distributes individual variable and fixed annuity products. The individual life segment produces and distributes universal life, term life and variable life insurance products. The U.S. Workplace Solutions division conducts its business through the Retirement and Group Insurance segment. The Retirement segment provides retirement investment and income products and services to retirement plan sponsors in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. The Group Insurance segment offers a range of group life, long-term and short-term group disability, and group corporate-owned, bank-owned and trust-owned life insurance. The Investment Management Division operates through investment management segment, which provides investment management and advisory services through institutional portfolio and retail management, private lending and asset securitization activity and other structured products. The International Insurance division consists of International Insurance segment, which manufactures and distributes individual and group life insurance, retirement and related products, including certain health and personal accident products with fixed benefits. The Closed Block division continues to consist of the Closed Block segment, which is accounted for divested business as it involves in participating insurance and annuity products that company ceased selling. The Corporate and Other Operations include corporate item or businesses that have been or will be divested. Prudential Financial was founded by John Fairfield Dryden in 1875 and is headquartered in Newark, NJ.
