It is primarily engaged in the reinsurance of individual and group coverage's for traditional life and health, longevity, disability income, annuity and critical illness products, and financial reinsurance. The company operates through five business operations: United States, Canada, Europe and South Africa, Asia Pacific and Corporate and Other. The United States operations provide traditional life, long-term care, group life and health reinsurance, annuity and financial reinsurance products. The Canada operations provide insurers with reinsurance of traditional life products as well as creditor reinsurance, group life and health reinsurance, non-guaranteed critical illness products and longevity reinsurance. The Europe and South Africa operations include a variety of life and health products, critical illness and longevity business throughout Europe and in South Africa. The Asia Pacific operations include life, critical illness, disability income, superannuation and financial reinsurance. The Corporate and Other includes RGA Technology Partners, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary that develops and markets technology solutions for the insurance industry, interest expense related to debt and the investment income and expense associated with the company's collateral finance facility. Reinsurance Group of America was founded on December 31, 1992 and is headquartered in Chesterfield, MO.
