It is an international forest products company primarily engaged in activities associated with timberland management, the sale and entitlement of real estate, and the production and sale cellulose fibers and fluff pulp. The company through its subsidiaries operates under five segments: Forest Resources, Real Estate, Performance Fibers, Wood Products and Other. The Forest Resources segment owns, leases or manages timberlands, and sells standing timber and delivers logs. The Real Estate segment engages in development, recreation or conservation than for timber production. The Performance Fibers segment manufactures cellulose fibers and absorbent materials with production facilities in Jesup, Georgia and Fernandina Beach, Florida. The Wood Products segment manufactures and sells dimension lumber. It operates three lumber manufacturing facilities in the U. S. that produce southern pine lumber, which is generally used for residential and industrial construction. The Other segment engages in trading logs. Rayonier was founded in 1926 and is headquartered in Jacksonville, FL.
