Seaboard Corp. is a diversified international agribusiness and transportation company. The company through its subsidiaries is engaged in pork production and processing, and ocean transportation business in the United States; commodity merchandising, grain processing, sugar production and electric power generation business; and operates turkey operations in the United States. It operates through the following divisions: Pork, Commodity Trading and Milling, Marine, Sugar, Power and Turkey. The Pork division engages in the businesses of hog production and pork processing through Seaboard Foods LLC. This segment produces and sells fresh and frozen pork products to foodservice operators, grocery stores, distributors and retail outlets in the United States, Japan and Mexico. Its pork products include lunchmeat, ham, bacon, sausage, loins, tenderloins and ribs. The Commodity Trading and Milling division is engaged in the business of integrated grain trading, processing and logistics. It markets wheat, corn, soybean meal, rice and other similar commodities to third parties and affiliated companies. The Marine division provides containerized cargo shipping services through its subsidiary, Seaboard Marine Ltd., and other affiliated companies and third party agents. It also operates a cargo terminal facility at the Port of Houston that includes an on-dock warehouse space for temporary storage of bagged grains, resins and other cargoes. The Sugar division produces and refines sugar and other alcohol produces in Argentina through its subsidiary, Ingenio y Refineria San Martin del Tabacal SA, and other non-consolidated affiliates. Its sugar products are sold to retailers, soft drink manufacturers and food manufacturers. The Power division through its subsidiary, Transcontinental Capital Corp. (Bermuda) Ltd., operates two floating power generating facilities. The Turkey division owns non-controlling voting interest in Butterball LLC, which is a vertically integrated producer, processor and marketer of branded and non-branded turkey's products. Seaboard was founded on July 24, 1946 and is headquartered in Merriam, KS.
