It offers a complete line of funeral and cremation merchandise services, along with cemetery property, services. The company operates through three business segments: Funeral, Cemetery and Corporate Trust Management. The Funeral Homes segment offers a complete range of funeral services and products both at the time of need and on a preneed basis, including family consultation, removal and preparation of remains, the use of funeral home facilities for visitation, worship and funeral services, transportation services, flowers and caskets. The Cemetery segment involves the sale of cemetery property and related merchandise, including lots, lawn crypts, family and community mausoleums, columbariums, cremation niches, cremation gardens, monuments, memorials and burial vaults, along with the sale of burial site openings and closings and inscriptions. The Corporate Trust Management segment consists of trust management fees and funeral merchandise and service trust earnings recognized with respect to preneed contracts delivered during the period. Stewart Enterprises was founded by Albert Stewart in 1910 and is headquartered in Jefferson, LA.
