The company through its subsidiaries provides banking products and services, including individual and commercial demand and time deposit accounts, commercial and consumer loans, residential mortgages, credit card services and deposit services. It operates through three segments: Commercial Banking, Wealth Management and Mortgage Banking. The Commercial Banking segment includes commercial, business and retail banking. It provides customers with products such as commercial loans, small business loans, real estate loans; business financing and consumer loans. In addition, this segment provides customers with several choices of deposit products including demand deposit accounts, savings accounts and certificates of deposit. The Wealth Management segment provides investment and financial advisory services to businesses and individuals, including financial planning, retirement planning, estate planning, trust and custody services, investment management, escrows, and retirement plans. The Mortgage Banking segment engages primarily in the origination and acquisition of residential mortgages for sale into the secondary market on a best-efforts basis. StellarOne was founded on September 13, 1911 and is headquartered in Charlottesville, VA.
