It provides wireline services through its incumbent local exchange carrier and competitive local exchange carrier, and provides hosted and managed services, under its wholly-owned subsidiary, TDS Telecommunications Corp., provider of high-speed Internet, phone and TV entertainment services, as well as VoIP business solutions, to customers in rural, suburban and metropolitan communities. It conducts printing and distribution services through its majority-owned subsidiary, Suttle-Straus, Inc., a communications solutions provider specializing in corporate communications, direct mail and advertising materials for the Wisconsin and Chicago markets. It provides wireless services through its majority-owned subsidiary, Airadigm Communications, Inc., a Wisconsin-based service provider. The company was founded by LeRoy T. Carlson in 1968 and is headquartered in Chicago, IL.
