Trinity Industries, Inc. engages in the provision of products and services to the energy, transportation, chemical, and construction sectors. It operates through the following segments: Rail Group, Construction Products Group, Inland Barge Group, Energy Equipment Group, and Railcar Leasing and Management Services Group. The Rail Group segment involves manufacturing and selling railcars and related parts, components, and maintenance services. The Construction Products Group segment includes manufacturing and selling highway products and other steel products for infrastructure related projects and produces and sells maintenance services aggregates. The Inland Barge Group segment offers manufacturing and selling barges and related products for inland waterway services. The Energy Equipment Group segment comprises of manufacturing and selling products for energy related businesses, including structural wind towers, steel utility structures for electricity transmission and distribution, storage and distribution containers, and tank heads for pressure and non-pressure vessels. The Railcar Leasing and Management Services Group segment owns and operates a fleet of railcars as well as provides third-party fleet leasing, management, maintenance, and administrative services. The company was founded in 1933 and is headquartered in Dallas, TX.
