The Real Estate Ownership segment owns and invests in commercial properties in the U.S. and the European Union that is then leased to companies, primarily on a single-tenant, triple-net leased basis. The company and its CPA(R) series of income-generating, non-traded REITs help companies and private equity firms unlock capital tied up in real estate assets. It was founded by William Polk Carey in 1973 and is headquartered in New York, NY.
