The company operates its business through four segments: OneBeacon, Sirius Group, HG Global/BAM and Other Operations. The OneBeacon segment consist of OneBeacon Insurance Group Ltd. an exempted Bermuda limited liability company that owns a family of U.S. based property and casualty insurance companies, most of which operate in a multi-company pool. OneBeacon is a property and casualty insurance writer that offers a wide range of insurance products through independent agencies, regional and national brokers, wholesalers, and managing general agencies. The Sirius Group segment consists of Sirius International Insurance Group Ltd. an exempted Bermuda limited liability company, and its subsidiaries. Sirius Group provides insurance and reinsurance products for property, accident and health, aviation and space, trade credit, marine, casualty, agriculture and certain other exposures on a worldwide basis through its subsidiaries, Sirius International Insurance Corp., Sirius America Insurance Co. and Lloyd's Syndicate. The HG Global/BAM segment consists of White Mountains investments in HG Global Ltd. and Build America Mutual Assurance Co. The Other Operations segment consist of its intermediate holding companies, its wholly-owned investment management subsidiary, White Mountains Advisors LLC, the consolidated results of the Tuckerman Capital LP fund, White Mountains' variable annuity reinsurance business, White Mountains Life Reinsurance (Bermuda) Ltd., which is in runoff, as well as various other entities. White Mountains Insurance Group was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in Hanover, NH.
