Ticket agency to book tee times for Golden Bear golf courses
|
NEW YORK (CNNfn) -- Ticketmaster and Golden Bear Golf said Wednesday they would establish a jointly-owned company that will allow golfers to book tee times at courses around the country.
The joint venture, called Ticketmaster Golf, will be based in Orlando, Fla., and is expected to be operational this summer.
"This alliance is a key part of our strategy to create new revenue streams by bringing the convenience of advance ticketing to new markets and applications," said Frederic D. Rosen, president and chief executive officer of Ticketmaster.
Ticketmaster Golf will use Ticketmaster's proprietary computerized distribution system to automatically search for available tee times at leading daily fee golf courses throughout the country.
Golfers will be able to purchase tee times by telephone, through the Internet and outlets up to one year in advance, depending on the golf course.
