Busy signals? Failure to connect? Did online brokerages make the grade?

The action was not confined to the floor of the New York Stock Exchange Monday and Tuesday as thousands attempted to execute trades in cyberspace via online brokerages such as Accutrade and E*Trade.
But amid the pandemonium, just how many orders actually got through?
