NEW YORK (CNNfn) - "Moneyline With Lou Dobbs," CNN's roundup of the day's most important events in business and finance, is expanding to one hour, starting Monday, June 22.
The program's name will change to "Moneyline News Hour with Lou Dobbs." It will air 30 minutes earlier, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Eastern time on CNN, CNNfn and CNN International. A video stream of the program will also be available on CNNfn.com.
The new program will offer expanded business news coverage and also include analysis of general news events.
"The combination of CNN's unmatched global news gathering resources and Lou's leadership will make this program vital for understanding the complex and fast-paced world we live in," said Richard Kaplan, president, CNN/U.S.
"Moneyline" will provide a summary of the day's international business, economic and financial news with details of major market performers and analysis of market trends.
It will also feature full coverage of the day's news events and highlight important developments in politics, global affairs, entertainment and sports. The expanded program will feature CNN correspondents from around the world and interviews with international and domestic leaders.
"'Moneyline' is expanding because we believe that all of today's major news stories have financial components that impact people's lives," said Dobbs, president of CNNfn. "'The Moneyline News Hour' will be dedicated to viewers who are serious not just about financial news, but about all the significant events of the day," Dobbs said.
The program will be broadcast from new sets that will include the first high definition television projection system in network television.
The "Moneyline" staff, including correspondents, editorial and graphics support, has more than doubled. Leading the new team is Vice President and Executive in Charge David Bohrman, a 20-year news veteran.
