Grand jury testimony knocks off Stephen King, online retailer reports

SEATTLE, Wash. (CNN) -- Even before the public has had a chance to view it, President Clinton's videotaped testimony about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky has rocketed to the No. 1 sales spot at Amazon.com, to be available in about a week.
The on-line seller of books, videos, and music began offering the tapes Saturday morning for $9.95 plus about $4 in shipping costs, according to spokesman Bill Curry.
Curry would not reveal actual sales figures, saying that information "is considered to be proprietary."
Curry said this is only the second time in Amazon's brief history that a video has been its best-selling product; the only other time was just after the release on video of "Titanic."
The company will begin sending the tapes at the end of the week, Curry said.
Last week, Stephen King's novel, Bag of Bones, knocked the Starr report from the No. 1 sales spot. King's novel dropped to No. 2 Sunday afternoon and the Starr report had slipped to No. 3.
