Latest statistics show economic activity is slowing fast

LONDON (CNNfn) - Gloomy statistical data released Friday highlighted slowing economic activity in Europe.
Britain's official statistics agency, the Office for National Statistics (ONS), cut its figures for third-quarter GDP growth.
In the latest three month period, the economy grew only 2.3 percent, against earlier estimates of a 2.5 percent increase.
The ONS said the growth rate was the slowest since the final three months of 1995.
In Germany, the Federal Statistics Office announced the largest annual drop in producer prices since 1991, indicating inflation is well in check.
Prices fell .4 percent in October, and are down 1.2 percent from the same period a year ago.
