NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Walt Disney Co. Friday named Judson Green chairman of Walt Disney Attractions as part of the reorganization of its theme parks and resorts unit.
The newly reorganized Attractions unit will include Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland, Disney Regional Entertainment and Walt Disney Imagineering, the company said .
Green, who joined Disney (DIS ) in 1981 and has been president of the Disney theme parks and resorts segment for eight years, named Paul Pressler president of the Attractions segment. Pressler had been president of Disneyland.
The company said Green will focus on the long-term growth of the new organization, placing special emphasis on its international expansion, including in China. Pressler will be responsible for the ongoing operations of the segment's individual units.
"Judson and Paul together form a strong partnership," Walt Disney Chairman Michael Eisner said. "With Judson focusing on our future strategic direction and Paul on the operating units, we have put together the ideal team to lead us into the twenty-first century."
Green and Pressler will report to Eisner, and the heads of the Walt Disney Attractions units will report to Pressler, with the exception of Imagineering's vice chairman and principal creative executive Martin A. Sklar and president Ken Wong. They will report to both Eisner and Pressler.
Richard Nunis, whom Green succeeds as chairman, is retiring after 43 years with Disney but will continue to serve as a consultant.
In afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange, Disney stock (DIS) was trading down 5/8 to 31-13/16.
