NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Hewlett-Packard Co. cut prices Monday across its desktop, notebook and workstation computer lines by as much as 20 percent, with one model breaking the sub-$700 barrier.
The Palo Alto, Calif. computer maker said the reductions cover the Vectra corporate PCs, Brio business PCs, Kayak PC workstations and OmniBook notebook computers.
The Brio represents the most notable reduction, falling 15 percent to an estimated street price of $699.
HP dropped the price of the Vectra VE corporate PC, equipped with a 3Com Corp. (COMS) local-area network card, by 20 percent to $774.
The Vectra VE features an Intel Celeron 333-MHz processor, 4.3 gigabyte hard drive and 32 MB of memory.
HP (HWP) last month reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter operating earnings, although its year-to-year sales growth fell short of analysts' estimates.
HP shares rose 13/16 to 66-7/16 in midday trading.
