Maker of Coppertone acquires rights to Bain de Soleil sun care products

NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Drug maker Schering-Plough agreed Thursday to buy the U.S. rights to Pfizer Inc.'s Bain de Soleil line, giving it a larger share of the sun care products industry.
Schering-Plough, maker of the popular Coppertone sun lotions, will acquire the marketing and trademark rights to Bain de Soleil gels, sunless tanning creams and sunscreens. Financial terms weren't disclosed.
Schering-Plough HealthCare Products, based in Liberty Corner, N.J., is the personal care division of Schering-Plough, maker of the best-selling Claritin allergy medication and other drugs.
New York-based Pfizer produces the male impotence remedy Viagra, the new painkiller Celebrex and other drugs.
Schering-Plough (SGP) stock slipped 1/8 to 45-7/8 early Thursday. Pfizer (PFE) lost 3/16 to 38-13/16.
