Blue chip alliance will deliver high-quality digital images over the Internet

NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Eastman Kodak Co. and AT&T Corp. Monday announced a strategic alliance to develop and move high-quality digital images across the Internet.
Under the agreement, Kodak will deliver a wide array of digital imaging products directly to commercial customers using AT&T's data and Internet Protocol services.
By accessing AT&T's worldwide telecom services, which reach more than 80 million customers around the globe, the Rochester, N.Y.-based Kodak hopes to accelerate the growth of its burgeoning digital imaging business.
"This directly supports a Kodak key growth initiative to enable digitalization, digital capture and output by facilitating the transfer of digital images anytime, anywhere," said Cynthia Martin, president of Kodak Global Customer Service and Support.
The agreement will target markets that rely heavily on exchanging images, such as healthcare, photo processing labs, education and entertainment, the companies said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Kodak (EK: Research, Estimates) shares retreated 1/2 to 56-5/8 in late morning trading, while AT&T (T: Research, Estimates) climbed 13/16 to 59-9/16.
