NEW YORK (CNNfn) - About one in three households has at least one kind of individual retirement account, but while the average account contains about $60,000, a growing number of them are in the six- or seven-digit range, providing more than enough money for retirement.
However, the IRS takes a big chunk of the savings when these accounts get passed on to beneficiaries.
