SBA administrator, NFIB chief head the list of people to know in Washington
|
NEW YORK (CNNfn) - They range from the administrator of the Small Business Administration to the small-business lobbyist who is leading the charge to repeal the estate tax.
They are the "Power 30" as compiled by Fortune Small Business magazine, a group of the most influential insiders who speak the language of the entrepreneur in and around the beltway of Washington, D.C.
You may not agree with them on all the issues. Nor would they agree among themselves. But they are people you can't afford to ignore in Washington.
Here are the first five entries on the list:
1. Jack Faris, president, National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
2. Aida Alvarez, administrator, Small Business Administration (SBA).
3. Christopher "Kit" Bond, Senator (R-Mo) and chairman, Senate Committee on Small Business.
4. Christopher Cox, Congressman (R-Calif.).
5. Harry Alford, president, National Black Chamber of Commerce.
