BRK Brands says 600,000 First Alert extinguishers may fail to discharge

NEW YORK (CNNfn) - BRK Brands Inc. is recalling about 600,000 First Alert household fire extinguishers. The Aurora, Ill.-based company said the recalled extinguishers can fail to discharge when the trigger is activated, which can put users at risk of fire-related injuries.
 BRK so far has received five reports of the failure of the fire extinguishers, but no injuries have been reported.
The recalled items are First Alert model FE1A10G with serial numbers beginning with RH, RK, RL, RP, RT, RU or RW. The serial number is located on the extinguisher's label.
Consumers who have the recalled fire extinguishers should immediately contact First Alert at (866) 669-2736 for more information.
