Hawaiian Airlines to buy nine 767s with list price of $120M per plane
|
NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Hawaiian Airlines entered an agreement Monday to purchase nine of Boeing's 767-300ER jets, according to a published report.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the planes carry a list price of $120 million per aircraft, which values the total pact at $1.1 billion, according to Reuters. Discounts in mass orders are routine, however.
The agreement gives a lift to Boeing (BA: up $0.21 to $55.28, Research, Estimates) after Airbus Industrie trumped the Seattle-based aircraft maker on a number of mass orders at June's Paris Air Show.
Hawaiian Airlines (HA: up $0.04 to $3.44, Research, Estimates) leased four 767s from International Lease Finance Corp. (AIG: up $0.78 to $85.29, Research, Estimates) in June and said it would purchase three long-term 767 leases from Morgan Stanley's (MDSW: Research, Estimates) Ansett Worldwide Aviation unit in May.
