Leaseholder plans to build memorial, four or five smaller buildings on site

NEW YORK (CNNfn) - World Trade Center lease holder Larry Silverstein intends to rebuild on the site of the demolished World Trade Center, but in a different formation, he said Thursday.
Silverstein, head of Silverstein Properties, told CNNfn's Peter Viles he envisions four or five 50- to 60-story buildings standing on the site. The original two structures were 110 stories each.
Both towers and several surrounding structures were destroyed and thousands of people were killed when hijackers slammed two passenger airliners into them on Sept. 11. The cleanup of the site is expected to take months.
Silverstein also said a memorial will be put on the site.
His company bought the lease on the complex from the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey in late July, signing on for 99 years.
