NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - When the 2002 Winter Olympics finally get underway February 8th in Salt Lake City, supporters across the globe will breathe a sign of relief.
After being rocked by scandal, a four hundred million dollar budget deficit, and a heightened threat of terrorism, the Salt Lake games seemed doomed to become one of history's unhappy footnotes.
That's when turnaround specialist Mitt Romney stepped into the ring.
