NEW YORK (CNN/Money) -
Erin Kappen's baby son has already seen his first payday from her employer.
Kappen, 22, a part-time employee of 7-Eleven in Essexville, Mich., received a check for $711 because her son, Parker John VanWormer, weighed in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces when he was born Oct. 4, according to a report in the Bay City Times.
The unusual bonus is from Garb-Ko Inc., a licensee of 7-Eleven convenience stores, which has 7-Eleven stores in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, the paper reports.
Larry Hauck, director of marketing for Garb-Ko Inc., told the paper the company has given out the $711 bonus to employees whose babies weigh in at that fortunate level several times in his 26 years with the company.
The three-week old Parker is now up to 8 pounds, 5 ounces, the paper report.
