NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - For kids used to living well and playing well, getting off-the-shelf toys for Christmas is so not cool.
There's no excuse for parents of posh tots to even think about "going retail" this holiday season.
Toy retailer FAO Schwartz and Chicago-based retailer specialty retailer Hammacher Schlemmer are offering a few outrageously-priced toys that guarantee bragging rights at least until next season.
For instance, children of the rich and famous can cruise around the driveway in their very own custom made $15,000 gas-powered Mercedes convertible.
Or how about a $30,000 two-storey playhouse called La Petite Maison that's equipped with a working mini-kitchen with running water and electricity, a mini-media room and a garage.
Both the car and the playhouse are available through the FAO Schwartz 2004 Ultimate Toy Catalog.
Meanwhile, some hot pricey toys at Hammacher Schlemmer include a $1,600 cotton candy maker and a bubblegum pink mini-electric motorcycle priced at $300.
